Welcome to mickhayesmusic.com a page dedicated to my development as a songwriter. Over the last few years I believe I have evolved in to a recognized songwriter.  I have been given many awards for my performance abilities, but recently I really enjoy making music since that was what I started doing as soon as I was given a guitar.

As a writer my influences vary but always start at my upbringing: Richie Kotzen, Robin Trower, Otis Redding, Prince, The Tea Party and many others. I bring up these artists in particular because they never really locked into specific genres or formats. For instance Richie Kotzen's first album on Shrapnel Records is nothing like his current releases so you can hear a progression there as a writer. Prince and the Tea Party never did two albums the same! However, one thing they all have in common is their tendency to write about love and romance. Otis Redding wrote a whole collection of music for his wife that the whole world has never even heard. To me that shows amazing commitment to your work and heart! 

Recently I have reached the status of being a Nationally Published Writer and have been given the ability to write for Warner-Brothers and a few other companies. So it is with great pleasure that I launch this site a reflection of my commitment to my work and my heart...
